Caste panchayat fines bride’s family Rs 11 lakh for tonsuring head of groom’s brother in Rajasthan

A mahapanchayat in Karauli district fined a bride’s family Rs 11 lakh and two mediators Rs 1 lakh each after the groom’s brother was humiliated during a pre-wedding event. The groom’s family had called off the wedding, leading to the public shaving of the brother’s head and moustache.
