IRS to cut 20k jobs as Trump administration moves to shrink federal workforce

The IRS has begun significant job cuts, starting with the Office of Civil Rights and Compliance. Around 20,000 employees could be affected as part of the Trump administration’s efforts to reduce the federal workforce and improve efficiency. Some staff have been offered buyouts under a ‘deferred resignation program’.
